Updated 2018 Course Information Announced

The course for the 2018 high school races will undergo some significant changes from last year.   The new course will incorporate two laps on separate courses – an A-loop (lap 1) an a B-loop.   This will allow for the inclusion of some more difficult climbs that will be more challenging then the previous course and also reduce some congestion on the course when skiers on different laps overtake each other.   It will still provide good opportunities for spectators to watch the the competition at multiple points on the course.  You can view the  course maps for both HS and MS events on the Spectator page.   There is also a good map on how to get to the Birkie Start where all the races will be held.

Team Pictures Needed

Coaches and team managers, it’s not to early to think about your team pictures for the year.   We will once again be creating a booklet at the State Meet with pictures of all the teams.   Team pictures that are separated by High School skiers in one picture and the Middle School skiers in the other are needed.   The pictures should be submitted to Sue Kort at kort@luhs.k12.wi.us .   Pictures need to be submitted by January 9 to be included in the booklet

Course Maps and Venue Information Updated

Course maps, profiles and stadium layout information has been posted on the Spectator page.  Included is a map showing how to get to the Birkie Start Area.  It’s important to note that this is different from last year.   To get to the start area and parking locations,  you need to go to Cable and follow Randysek Road to McNaught Road.  Connecting roads from the Telemark Property will not be maintained and passable.  For those staying at the condos, we will look into access by foot from behind the old Telemark Lodge.
